GEODOG® | Features: Locate, Search, Oversee

GEODOG® offers two basic features:

Actively Locate and Search your dog

You explicitly (actively) enquire the current position of your dog by calling GEODOG®. Your request will be answered by a SMS containing the coordinates of the position or a link to a map.
The Position - Most important

As your dog most likely will continue roaming while you are looking for him, you can activate the search mode. Then you will get new position information every time your dog has moved from his last position by a certain distance (e.g. 100m). The message will include the cardinal direction.
The Search Mode - Automatic tracing

Passively oversee your dog

As soon as this „fence“ has been activated, GEODOG® will automatically supervise your dog and inform you by SMS when your dog leaves the zone. These text messages will include the direction and the distance to the HOME (e.g. 560m west).
Zones – Virtual fences

You are able to define No-Go-Zones and Off-limits either by SMS or with the software and to assign a safety radius. When your pet gets close to these places, you will be informed by SMS and can take immediate action.

GEODOG® offers the possibility to define reference points which will ease orientation for you. You can determine prominent spots such as a park, a church or woodland as a reference, and each position message will automatically list the two closest reference points including the direction and the distance of your dog (e.g. 300m East of church and 805m Northeast of park).

GEODOG® can record the tracks of your dog (up to 2000 waypoints). The GEODOG® software allows reading out and displaying the tracks on a map (road map or satellite view). This way, you can analyze the tracks of your dog.
Tracking – Up-to-date analysis

Mobile phones without Internet access If you are using a very old mobile without Internet access or you just do not want to access the Internet, you can orientate yourself with the help of reference points.
fMobile phones with Internet access and color display Today almost all mobile phones (even older models such as Nokia 6210) are able to receive data from the Internet. The SMS reply from GEODOG® will contain a link to click on. This will open a window on your mobile phone with the relevant map view and the position of your dog.
Latest generation phones You own a latest-generation mobile phone (e.g. BlackBerry, iPhone, Windows Smartphone or a Nokia of a higher category) with integrated GPS-receiver. In this case, the link will open the appropriate, installed map software and show your own position as well as the position of your dog as target address.
Optional Software for Windows Mobile The fastest and most comfortable way to oversee your dog is using our specially developed software.

PC-Software GEODOG® comes with a comprehensive PC-Software. Besides many other features this can also be used to indicate the coordinates of your dog's position on a map.
myGEODOG If you want to trace your dog with a PC where GEODOG®-Software is not installed (e.g. in your office or when you are on vacation), you can go to myGEODOG at www.geodog.de and get the coordinates of your dog's position live shown on a map.

Map

It requires a bit of experience with printed maps and coordinates to localize your dog by means of a map printout. You can either print out a free-of-charge map (with longitudes and latitudes) on this homepage (map service will be available soon) or buy one in a selected shop.

With a scale of 1:25,000 it is quite easy to define the precise position in a large area. This way, it will also be easy to find your dog, for example, in your vacation resort.

Navigation system

Almost all mobile navigation devices allow entering geo-coordinates. You just type in the values received by SMS and your navigation system will direct you.

GEODOG® responds only to the phone number that was registered with him. Only you "communicate" with your dog. Calls or SMS-commands from other numbers will be ignored by GEODOG®.

Dog fanciers and families with dogs

GEODOG® means protection for dogs - regardless if in a family or single household. GEODOG® can be used at home, when away or on vacation, or with a dog sitter.

Hunters and hunting associations

As soon as a hunter looses sight and direct control of his dog, GEODOG® offers a new, efficient and fast working with the dog. The functional principle of GEODOG® enables hunters to control and analyze the hunt.

K-9 units and police dogs

The GEODOG® tracking function is of special importance for K-9 units and the police. With GEODOG® the officers can prove that the search area has been scrutinzied in its entirety.

Pet obedience schools and dog clubs

Obedience schools and dog clubs use GEODOG® to complete their training offers. A dog trainer can use the collar to oversee and educate the dog without limitating the dog's desire of freedom.
